AeroFarms builds vertical farms that grow a variety of leafy salad greens indoors. They rely on LED lighting to grow the plants, and claim to use 95% less water than a traditional farm thanks to its specially designed root misting system. The giant facility they’re building in a former steel mill is expected tot grow 2 million pounds of greens per year, making it the largest indoor vertical farm in the world.
