COP25 closed without carbon agreement
COP25 President Carolina Schmidt ended marathon UN climate talks in Madrid. After more than 2 weeks, and a speech by teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, negotiators failed to deliver a firm agreement on how to handle carbon markets, where big emitters can 'buy' the right to pollute from countries that emit less than their 'fair share.' Do we have to wait till COP26 in Glasgow in November 2020?
